" Get New Cellphones"

The Chicago Tribune is reporting that ABC News was warned by an unidentified "senior federal law enforcement official" that "It's time for you to get some new cell phones, quick,"
Why? According to the story HERE it's because of the on-going investigations into leaks to reporters on a variety of issues...CIA prisons, NSA wiretapping, Valerie Plame...I think you get the picture.

"Under Bush Administration guidelines, it is not considered illegal for the government to keep track of numbers dialed by phone customers.

The official who warned ABC News said there was no indication our phones were being tapped so the content of the conversation could be recorded.

A pattern of phone calls from a reporter, however, could provide valuable clues for leak investigators."

I'm having a hard time finding a silver lining here. This story makes me nauseous...I pair it with an item from the ABC Blog 'Blotter' According to ABC, the FBI admits it does this and goes on to say,
"It used to be very hard and complicated to do this, but it no longer is in the Bush administration," This from a "senior federal official. It gets better...the official took umbrage with ABC News characterizing this activity as 'tracking'. His preferred verbiage?

"Think of it more as backtracking,"

Germany is struggling with an identical problem. The BND(Bundesnachrichtendienst) which is Germanys Foreign Intelligence Service has been found out to be spying on journalists. The response of the German government? Chancellor Angela Merkel admits it's happening and says she's ordered it STOPPED!
It's a tough day to be an American when the Germans are held up as Beacons of Liberty...but there you have it.
=======================

Time for some smiles...The BBC interviewed the wrong guy and Youtube.com has the clip HERE. I used to book & produce guests. It's inconceivable that this could happen...someone(s) grabbed the wrong guy, miked him up and put him on live Tv for an interview...look at the poor bastards face as the interview begins and he realizes what's happening...great stuff...

So throw your cellphone away and as always...

Stay Naked.
