A Word from the Islamic Army...

Who are these guys and what do they want? Other than the fact that they 'hate freedom' we don't know too much about them. IPS has an interesting interview HERE with Abu Ayoub a 35 year old member of the Islamic Army living in Baghdad. Some highlights...

"When the occupation forces entered Baghdad, they killed my brother in front of my eyes. He was wounded and bleeding but the occupation forces didn't allow me to save him. When I tried to save him they began shooting at me and after a few minutes my brother died. After that I swore to fight them to the death."

I wonder if he 'hated freedom' before or after occupation forces made him watch his brother die?

"At first I was fighting in a small group, because we didn't trust many people to join with us. But now, after three years fighting, we became part of Islamic Army. Now everything has become organised, we make good plans before any attack."

Hm, this can't be good news for our guys over there...

"There will be no civil war in Iraq if the occupation retreats, Abu Ayoub says. "We will control Iraq and push out all the militias and Iraqi politicians who came on American tanks. Then we will find many honest Iraqi politicians to lead Iraq. But for now you can see how the Iraqi people are between two hammers, the occupation and the militia -- or even the Iraqi government, because they support them."

I really hope this is true. The Iraqi people have suffered enough. The American troops stationed in the kill zone known as Iraq have suffered enough...we need this to end.

In the Not Good News folder, The Herald is reporting that Pentagon sources have confirmed our 'Bomb Iran' war plans...

"The main plan calls for a rolling, five-day bombing campaign against 400 key targets in Iran, including 24 nuclear-related sites, 14 military airfields and radar installations, and Revolutionary Guard headquarters.
At least 75 targets in underground complexes would be attacked with waves of bunker-buster bombs.
Iranian radar networks and air defence bases would be struck by submarine-launched Tomahawk cruise missiles and then kept out of action by carrier aircraft flying from warships in the Indian Ocean and Persian Gulf.
The alternative to an all-out campaign is a"

Or, an alternative...

"The alternative to an all-out campaign is a demonstration strike against one or two high-profile targets such as the Natanz uranium enrichment facility or the hexafluoride gas plant at Isfahan."

Both are reported to be non-nuclear...which is about the only silver lining I could find...

Stay dry and please...

Stay Naked.
